About Janni Christensen

I lead teams creating functional premium apparel with excellent fit and features. Great product solves problems, enables the activity and enhances the experience, but critically, it must be done to the highest sustainability standards, while we keep pushing towards a fully responsible and circular model in the industry. I'm an experienced product engineer, pattern maker and technical designer with 20 years international apparel development and manufacturing experience. I specialize in outdoor and functional apparel with experience acquired from leading global brands: Arc'teryx, Norrøna, Helly Hansen, Salomon etc. I lead teams and train and mentor individuals in the outdoor industry in areas of product engineering and development, technical design, pattern making, fit and sizing, quality, and supplier/vendor communication. I manage apparel projects, processes, development calendars, and internal/external reference guides (design language, pattern drafting, construction and quality standards etc). I create blocks, sample and production patterns, measurement and size charts, tech packs and BOMs, and I lead fit sessions, sample reviews and vendor communications. I partner with departments cross-functionally (compliance, purchasing, marketing, sales, warranty, athletes etc.) to align on sustainability targets and priorities, collabs and product concepts, range plan and carryover strategies, margin targets, fit and size strategies etc. I lead with clear communication, open collaboration and inclusion, and strive to facilitate environments for empowered and supported teams to do their best work!
