About Janvi Jain

At diverse minds, It was the first time when I did a rehabilitation psychology internship and that too for 3 months. Here I received a real practical exposure as I could interact with the clients and give my contribution for the diagnosis, intervention and assessments plans and even get the feedback for it under the supervision of my mentor. Here I learnt and experienced more professional ethics like better communication skills, active listening, confidentiality and many more. Since the Internship was for a longer duration, I could take more sessions with the same client.At vimhans, I started off with observing clinical psychology staff to develop practical knowledge and skills and I gained foundational knowledge in psychiatric disorders, conducting case histories for adults and children. And as I Shadowed under experienced clinicians I gained deep insights about treatment, diagnosis, and assessment techniques. I gained enhanced clinical understanding through observation in IPD and OPD sessions. I got a wider exposure as I got the opportunity to participate in group therapy, occupational therapy, creative art therapy and vocational training. At Manastha Health Solutions, It was a new experience as it trained me for online counselling which has become a new trend since covid pandemic. It was the first time I was given to take one on one client counselling sessions independently. I used to give them homework’s and i reviewed and had a session with them on weekly basis. I assisted in career counselling, including client intake, action plan development, and group session facilitation. I even observed and learned counselling techniques. It was a great experience as I participated in organizing and presenting career workshops and seminars. I even provided administrative support, maintained confidentiality of client information.
