Are you looking for someone with years of technical support experience and the desire to move into a software development role? Well, look no further! You have found your candidate. I have worked in building automation support for the last five years, helping field technicians with various issues. These range from hardware problems with computers, valves, actuators, or sensors to software issues with Windows or building automation software. Where I learned various skills ranging from troubleshooting experience to researching product information. Previously, I worked in the Telecommunications industry for approximately five years. During my time there, I provided support for customers, field technicians, and field engineers. We mainly worked with networking equipment, both commercial and consumer-grade. When I was in the NOC, our primary responsibility was network monitoring and diagnosis. If there was an outage, it was our job to figure out why and fix it or contact the correct party to fix it. While there, I was promoted three times. I started as a Tier 2 Customer Support Representative, then was promoted to an Escalation Supervisor, and finally, NOC Technician. The experience I learned from this employer was invaluable. I was really able to hone my skills working with networking equipment, various computers, operating systems, cell phones, etc, you name it. I probably had someone call in to troubleshoot their internet with it. Although I have a lot of support experience, I would love to branch out into development. I want to create things. I love being able to fix problems, but the thought of creating something from scratch and making it a working product sounds fantastic. I am confident that all my experience in a supporting role would be invaluable in a development position. I would be able to more easily troubleshoot issues that arise or even foresee them coming because of my extensive experience with the general and professional public.
