I am currently a researcher at the University of Southampton. I am part of the Centre of Excellence in Intelligent & Resilient Ocean Engineering (IROE). My current work is on developing novel technologies for geotechnical characterisation of seabeds with reduced specialist vessel support through combining physics-based machine learning methods and geophysical data.More generally, I am interested in novel techniques by which soil properties can be measured as well as in the comparison between modelled and actual soil behaviour. The use of mathematical optimisation, be it for design or other purposes, is also of particular interest.
