About Jared Eller

I am interested in using biomanufacturing to capture microbes’ natural ability to produce complex and novel biomaterials in a robust and cost-effective manner. Production of biomaterials through biomanufacturing and synthetic biology will spur a revolution in how we treat diseases, build infrastructure and power our cities. I have seven years of experience with metabolic engineering, protein purification and analytical biochemistry, including a Ph. D. in Biochemistry, that I leverage to advance the dream of a world with an abundance of biomaterial products at humanity’s fingertips. Aside from my scientific expertise, I have leadership and entrepreneurial experience as an Eagle Scout, an alumnus of the Texas Biodesign program, and as a founding member of the Austin Chapter of Nucleate Bio. My most notable scientific achievements are: Discovered of the human mitochondrial NAD+ transporter using a recombinant uptake system to characterize transport, engineer protein modifications and create a high-throughput assay to determine drug candidates. Published in Nature. First hire into the manufacturing team of a seed stage biotechnology company. Optimized a circular single-stranded DNA manufacturing process, with upstream process, downstream process and quality assurance improvements. Put the process ahead of schedule for key metrics and earned the first revenue during the seed stage of the company.
