About Jared Gurba

I am currently a graduate student in the Meinig School of Biomedical Engineering at Cornell University. As an undergraduate at Cornell, I studied physics with a concentration in chemistry and biology. After graduating in 2018, I worked as an EMT for 2 years until returning to complete my Master of Engineering. In the fall of 2021, I will begin the MD degree program at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo. Outside of my academic life, I am an avid Taekwondo athlete, who has competed and medaled on the local, state, collegiate, national, and international stage. My dedication to the sport and my understanding of the importance that athletics can have on an individual have inspired me to set my mind on becoming an orthopedic surgeon, specializing in sports medicine. With the knowledge that aspirations and goals evolve as one grows older, I really only look to make a difference in my community and improve the quality of life for whomever I may encounter on my journey into medicine.
