About Jared Hansen

I am passionate about research that informs, inspires, and ignites positive growth and change. Right now, I am engaging in research that advances knowledge related to the psychological empowerment, meaningfulness, decision-making, critical thinking, and performance of leaders, employees, students, and consumers. I also enjoy engaging in research and speaking on entrepreneurial competitiveness, firm strategy and marketing, motivation modeling, social media influencer & mobile device usage impact on consumer decision-making and well-being, and business and society topics such as ethics and corporate social performance. I have taught university courses listed in marketing, business, organizational science, information technology and computer science, health informatics, and data science and business analytics spanning several topics related to business. Among the many awards I have received for my research and teaching, I was a worldwide ‘Top Paper Winner’ at the Global Drucker Challenge for ‘on ‘Why Good Management Matters,’ leading to a fellowship at the Global Drucker Forum, and in 2025 I received the College Undergraduate Research Mentor of the Year award, something that I am passionate about engaging in. I have presented new research at leading business conferences for the last several years as well as research workshops, executive education seminars, and other forms of instruction across North America, Central America, Europe, and Asia. And I continue to provide consultation, motivational speaking, customized executive education, and project research for several companies. I have appeared in radio, television, and magazine interviews. My research has been published in leading business journals, textbooks, books, and conference proceedings. And I continue to learn and grow as I serve as a reviewer for a number of leading business journals. I am also currently serving as the Associate Editor for CSR/ethics research at the Journal of Business Research.
