About Jared Harris

I completed my degree in Mechanical Engineering at Old Dominion University, BSME 2016 I currently work as a mechanical engineer for Liebherr Mining Equipment under Autonomy R&D. I'm in the process of utilizing Unreal Engine to model our variety of perception hardware including Lidar, Radar, and stereo vision. Other tasks include approving and verifying updates to on-board hardware across different teams and disciplines to eventually test at our proving grounds. I regularly get to see hardware start from CAD - peer reviewed - and eventually go through production/ suppliers to end up on our trucks. I've grown up with a personal experience in mechanical maintenance. I'm familiar with creating and conceptualizing with use of CAD. I have read and produced 3-D drawings from scaled building plans. I have created a 4-wheel dynamic model with the use of Simulink as well as designed a controller to manage torsional loading for my senior design project. My previous work has familiarized me with industrial equipment and processes across many markets as well as brought me to an advanced understanding of utilizing Autodesk inventor, a Part number database, and the Vault. This allows us to design and execute production of complex systems made up of 100's of components- all of which need to meet numerous standards depending on customer requirements. This includes UL, CSA, ATEX, among many other electrical, hazardous location, and explosion proof standards.
