About Jared McConkey

I started my career in the U.S. Army Military Police. After leaving the service I moved into civilian law enforcement where I stayed until I had my first daughter. I decided after my daughter was born that I did not want to miss out on all of her important memories that my current law enforcement career would have made me miss. I left law enforcement and moved into manufacturing. I didn’t know anything about manufacturing at the time but it offered promising pay and time off for the holidays. I started at Dowding Industries forming parts on a Press Brake. I eventually promoted up into a Quality Technician where I operated and programmed Faro CMM’s utilizing both CAM2 Measure 10 and Polyworks software. I took the lead with integrating Polyworks throughout our company and because the lead programmer. I was then promoted to the corporate level as a project manager where I manage new product launch and automation projects while still programming all new parts offline into Polyworks for our company to use. I quickly found a passion for robotics and automation, a passion I had not felt since law enforcement. I found myself designing robotic and automation cells using Solidworks, Roboguide, RoboDK and fusion 360. I handle all of the design, purchasing and general project management of our automation projects. I have learned to program both Fanuc and Universal robots. I have pushed our company to new technologies such as vision systems for robotics, we use Fanuc IR vision, Keyence 3d vision, Keyence 2d vision and Cognex vision systems. I have introduced automated inspection processes using Creaform Metrascan and Fanuc collaborative robots, machine tending processes such as press brake automation, CNC automation, and robotic weld automation. I have quickly learned that I do not believe in the impossible. If I can think it, I can do it, there is no limitations that cannot be overcome.
