To be a curious, thoughtful, dependable good human who always competes and maintains his integrity." This is my purpose statement. It’s my measuring tool – a gauge for engagement, both at work and in life. I refined it over time, and even though I continue to reflect on it, I haven't changed it in years. Here's how I interpret those words I chose so carefully: • curious: driven by intellectual curiosity, a sense of adventure, and a desire to try new things • thoughtful: an empathetic, good decision maker • dependable: someone that others can consistently count on; resilient (I can count on myself too) • good human: live by the Golden Rule • competes: someone who stays in the arena, gets in the game, and gives his best • integrity: the glue that is maintained above reproach Whether I’m taking on new challenges and problems to solve, honing transferable skills or developing new specialties, or just diving into another area of uncertainty, I continue to maintain my purpose, blaze my unique career path, and earn distinguished success.
