About Jared Richards

I have spent close to two decades operating across the full width of a distribution business. Sales, production, operations, change, technology, data, and finance. Not by design. That is just how the work went. The pattern has repeated enough times that I have stopped being surprised by it. You take the role, the scope expands, and the title catches up later if you are lucky. What that has produced is an end-to-end understanding of how businesses actually operate under pressure. Where decisions stall. Where ownership disappears. Where the operating model quietly fails the strategy.I think commercially first because I have had to. Coming up through sales and production with no playbook on costing and margin has a way of making that instinct permanent. The current role leads technology enablement and transformation across NZ and AU. The title undersells the scope, which is not an uncommon outcome.Outside of that I have run a small property development business since 2017. Eleven projects, eight new builds, capital at risk. It is not a hobby.
