About Jared Trotter

Often it's easy to focus on what we do, missing why we do it - especially in technical careers. While the what interests me, the why is my passion. For end users, electronic systems can be a pain or sometimes just annoying. Or worse yet, they are flatly ignored. The why behind the Fire Life Safety/Security industry is to provide a safe and secure environment. There are a lot of technically minded people who can implement the what, I am certainly among them. But fewer of us connect the why to the who. When the end user is the focus of the technical work, the system is then able to do what it’s intended to do: provide awareness of interruptions in security and safety. With over a decade and a half of Fire Life Safety/Security/Low Voltage industry history, I have developed an extremely broad and diverse skill set. Having installed, serviced, inspected, and supervised every facet of system implementation; I have always sought to hone my experience, maintain the highest integrity, and set premier standards. I am comfortable programming systems from a large variety of manufacturers of access control, IP CCTV, security, fire, door entry, and nurse call. Strong networking skills are becoming ever more crucial. I’m comfortable with network configuration from small networks to engaging IT engineers to complete successful networked system implementation. I've also spent years in service. I love the imaginative problem solving often required to ferret out stubborn troubles. Customer focus, asking the right questions and taking the time to listen are paramount to success. I currently oversee an inspection team of passionate technicians. I’ve loved leaning about the sprinkler side of the fire protection industry and teaching what I can to those learning fire alarm. I’m always seeking growth opportunities. And there never seems to be a shortage of new professionals who provide great insight, inspiring my continued growing in my ability to provide for peoples security.
