About Jari Majewski Price

Jari Majewski Price is the founding executive director of Feel the Beat Corp, a nonprofit organization that makes the experience of music possible for those who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing and with Special Needs. From early on, Jari noticed the doors that were closed to the Deaf and Special Needs communities within the arts, and this only became more apparent as she dove further into pedagogy. To meet this need for inclusion she worked to pioneer inclusive environments both onsite at Feel the Beat’s studio and offsite for worldwide accessibility. Her years working with disabled students has driven her to fill a void and to make sure any individual has the opportunity to experience the joy of music. As founder of Feel the Beat, a nonprofit that operates as both a fully inclusive dance studio and a barrier-breaking patented mobile flooring option, Jari has made her vision for inclusive and accessible environments a reality. She advocates for Deaf and Special Needs communities to have equality and freedom of self-expression and has partnered with an amazing team to create much-needed solutions to hindrances like inaccessibility and exclusion in creative arts. Her work with co-creators, engineers, and partners launched a fully accessible dance studio coupled with a customized curriculum and teaching tools for Special Needs individuals. She also oversaw the development of a groundbreaking bone-conductive flooring that converts sound into vibrational energy so an individual’s sense of touch is engaged—allowing them to feel the beat. Jari works to share this technology with individuals around the world seeking equal participation in a world of rhythmic exploration at the location of their choosing. Through various outreach, community efforts, programs, and news-related interviews, Jari continues to spread Feel the Beat’s mission for accessibility and to raise awareness about marginalized groups and the need for positive change in the increasingly inclusive world in which we live.
