About Jari Relander

I have worked 20+ years in various roles in technical documentation: Content creation and design, delivery, management, development, and support. Currently I work as a senior tech writer in software company CADMATIC as part of the Hull R&D team. CADMATIC makes CAD/CAM software for marine and industrial plant design as well as related information management software. I write and manage the application help and the release notes for our hull design software, CADMATIC Hull. Our output format for the help is HTML, and for the software release notes PDF and HTML. I use MadCap Flare for content authoring, Git for content management and content delivery, and JIRA for task management. I work in very close connection with our hull software development team in Groningen in the Netherlands. In my previous work at Nokia and Microsoft Mobile worked in the user documentation team. I specialized in user assistance that was integrated in phone software, including the content creation, delivery of the content to software integration, and arranging testing. If you ever had a Nokia or Microsoft smartphone, you've been exposed to my work if you ever read the manual or used the built-in help. I'm used to working with developers, architects, integrators, configurators, support, UI/UXD and graphic designers, SW/HW program/product/project managers, SW release managers, fault/error managers, test managers.
