About Jarrad Baker

Currently undertaking a PhD after receiving first class honours from Curtin University in 2015 for my research into the health status of fish inhabiting Port Phillip Bay in Victoria, Australia. My current research is investigating biochemical responses in fish exposed to light Australian crude oils. However, my research interests span a wide range of toxicological areas. Achievements throughout my academic education include the following: • Winner of the 2016 Paul Turner Scholarship for my PhD research proposal. This award is presented to a student(s) whose research project or assignment is likely to contribute to the contaminated sites industry in Western Australia. • Recipient of the 2014 MG Kailis Coastal Zone Management Award. Awarded yearly to the most outstanding full-time student graduating in Bachelor of Science (Coastal & Marine Science). • 2013 Curtin University Vice-Chancellors List for academic excellence. Membership of the Vice-Chancellors List is granted to the top 1% of undergraduate students across all disciplines each semester.
