About Jarret Orb

I am currently employed as a SCADA engineer and project manager with WSP. I specialize in substation SCADA work, communications, commissioning, and design work. I was previously a Field Technician with WSP in renewable energy data collection. At WSP, I have gained an understanding of the renewable energy industry and the many aspects of the engineering involved. WSP has enabled me to further develop my leadership skills by allowing me to take initiative and prioritize the work to be done by myself and others. I have also gained a thorough understanding of SCADA engineering, and have worked on several engineering projects with diverse applications. Beyond WSP, my work as an Engineering Assistant for the City of Regina in roadway rehabilitation, allowed me to learn about city infrastructure, construction and maintenance. It also allowed me to refine my ability to function both independently and as a team member. My experience at both EVRAZ steel manufacturing, and the Co-op Refinery Complex has taught me the importance of workplace safety in industrial process settings. My time as a sales representative at Princess Auto taught me how to communicate effectively, efficiently and respectfully. Finally, my project work through the University of Regina in partnership with EVRAZ, has allowed me to gain experience working with a group of practiced engineers on a project, designing an automated welding table.
