Background
About Jarrod Cheatham
My experience is in the trucking industry, safety training & education. It has always been a vision of mine to use my wisdom and passion to establish a PROFESSIONAL truck driving school geared to the total success of those wanting to enter this field and make it into a successful, enjoyable, and rewarding career with a sense of fulfillment. I would like to use my analytical and training expertise to make the trucking profession more enjoyable for current truck drivers and those that are interested in becoming future truck drivers and a lot safer for ALL the motoring public. I feel that in order to realize your self-worth, you have to take things in your own hands and take control of what you really want to do and do it. Most companies don't realize that and are so out of touch with their drivers, that why I see such a large turnover rate. I have tried to make a success out of my career and want very much to advance into administration and management. There are not that many African-American trucking companies out there, nor any trucking schools owned by African-Americans, so I'm going to prove to myself, my family, friends, and all the other BIG trucking companies that THIS African-American is just as good and just as capable of making sound decisions that will make a company respected in the industry and at the same time not sacrifice good drivers for profit. I have taught at several truck driving schools and was very saddened by the educational curriculum that was in place. I have found out that just about 95% of the trucking schools in this nation are set up to make potential student truck drivers FAIL. All they care is about is the profiting off other people and do NOTHING in helping them to succeed. That's why I call them "CDL mills". All they care about is getting the students through a course, get them a CDL, and leave them out on their own - not teaching them anything about the industry, or its standards. My vision is totally different from theirs. I believe in the STUDENT on a personal level. I strongly believe in the student's ability and potential and give it the nurturing and encouraging help that is needed and wanted. I have written and edited/re-written training curriculums for several truck driving schools when they didn't have one to begin with. Specialties: My specialty will have to be what I love doing best and that is safety training/teaching. I feel that is a true calling for me and hopefully one day soon, I will be able to start and operate my very own truck driving school.
