About Jarryd Minahan

A unique skill set from years of experience in construction,maintenance and operation of water, waste water and gas assets. I was employed on two of Australia’s largest gas pipeline projects (QCLNG & APLNG) with MCJV (McConnel dowel & joint venture) in remote central Queensland. I now hold 9 years of experience in the water sector, working for prominent public sector water organisations such as south east water, westernport water and Melbourne water. I hold over 11 years experience working on a range of water and waste water assets including networks and treatment plant facilities, Currently employed at Melbourne waters Eastern Treatment plant, as a control room plant operator. ETP is one of Australia's largest and complex waste water treatment plants, treating approximately 40% of Melbourne's waste water, with the plant comprising primary, secondary and tertiary treatment process's to safely treat waste water to class A standards, and meet HACCP guidelines. My role includes operation and monitoring of treatment process’s and equipment, issuing work orders and lock out tag out processes, power station operations, emergency management and major hazard facility controls and liaising with MW staff and maintenance contractors to undertake works safely on all aspects and types of equipment. Separate to my work career, I am passionate about conservation of our natural environment, which has led me to several leadership positions within Landcare, in 2021 I was the youngest person to be elected to the board of the Bass coast Landcare Network, a staffed organisation working on conservation, land management and education of the local Bass coast area in Victoria. I have also been elected to chair Gippsland Intrepid Landcare for three years, Gippsland intrepid Landcare is a volunteer group for younger Landcarers of Gippsland, in this role I helped steer the committee and environmental Volunteering through out Gippsland. I am a passionate advocate for the environment and align my passions in both my working and volunteer life.
