About Jasen Rizak

I am a University of Delaware Civil Engineering Graduate (c/o 2019) looking to enter into the engineering industry.I have previously spent over 3 years at University of Pennsylvania's Information Systems & Computing department - initially as an Intern, then eventually as a Contractor - in the Data Center Services team. I had never studied in the IT field before, but was always natural with handling tech, and so I was able to very quickly learn the skills needed to monitor networking equipment/connections, such as cable management, hardware installation, data center air flow management, and a plethora of asset documentation.I do not currently have any work experience in the civil engineering field, but my Senior Design Project at University of Delaware was able to give me a taste of the type work involved. We were required to build a team of 14 interdisciplinary students and design the site layout & structural drawings for a new hotel & conference center w/ parking garage on University of Delaware's STAR Campus. I worked under the Civil Discipline, where I produced CAD drawings for our site layout, storm water + sewer + water main w/ side profiles, and cooperated with the other disciplines of my team to put together an Engineering Proposal (which my team won), and then later a Final Design Report (w/ drawings).Though I may lack to real-world experience that other young engineers may have, I am quick to adapt to new work, and I believe that I would be a great addition to any team.
