About Jasjit Kohli

I have served for 25 yrs in the Infantry ( Jat Regt) over varied insurgency areas and have also served in the Infantry school as an instructor and during which I was responsible for the staffing and adminstration of five student officer messes. I have also served in Army Training Comd where I was deeply involved in studies of our adversary on the northern borders. I have served as a coy cdr in an RR Bn in Budgam district and commanded a RR bn for 3 yrs in an active CI area and was personally responsible for the safety of 1200 tps, men and material including domination of my Area of Responsibility. After successful Command of my Battalion I was the Col General Staff ( Training) in HQ Western Command and was personally responsible for development of training infrastructure, training of personnel and selection of sportspersons for representing the Command at Army Championships. I have pursued my MBA in Healthcare Management from Chitkara University during my study leave and intend to pursue this line as a second career option. I have experience having served as an administrative Commandant of a very high profile military station where the Command HQ of the Northern Command is located. I was instrumental in being the harbinger for change and worked towards making the station cleaner and greener by introducing novel methods for area maintenance, door to door garbage collection, and inauguration of a state of the art Waste Collection and Processing Park. In my current role I am responsible for policing duties and maintenance of discipline as the Deputy Provost Marshal of the Eastern Comd at Kolkata
