About Jasmine B.

I’m an educator, advocate, and nonprofit founder who shows up for the students and families who often feel overlooked or misunderstood. In the past eight years in education, especially during my time working in alternative education, I’ve learned that my calling goes far beyond my job description.I’ve sat with parents year after year who were overwhelmed by IEP meetings, confused by 504 plans, or afraid to speak up during disciplinary hearings. I’ve watched families who deeply love their children feel silenced simply because they didn’t know their rights or didn’t feel confident enough to advocate. And I’ve seen how that same silence can completely change the direction of a child’s life. That’s what led me to create ROOTED Advocacy Network, Inc.(501(c)(3)). ROOTED was created out of a simple but powerful belief: families deserve support, students deserve advocates, and no parent should ever feel alone when navigating the school system. Through parent advocacy training, community partnerships, and family-centered support, my goal is to give parents the tools, confidence, and voice they’ve always had but were never taught how to use.Whether I’m serving in my school role or leading ROOTED, everything I do is grounded in the same core truth: when families are empowered, students thrive. When parents understand their voice, opportunities open. And when a community stands together, trajectories change.
