About Jasmine Gipson

Hello! I am a pre-med senior at Washington and Lee University, double majoring in Integrated Engineering with Chemistry, and East Asian Languages and Literatures with an emphasis in Chinese. I work with Health Promotion at W&L to increase student health—both mentally and physically, as well as to promote relevant events to increase health education. Additionally, I am a teaching assistant for Physics I and II, as well as a part-time online tutor through GoPeer. I thoroughly enjoy working with students of a variety of ages, and I have completed over 800 private tutoring sessions through GoPeer! As for volunteer experience, I am a Chinese teacher through Language for Rockbridge (LFR). LFR is a local program that connects elementary and middle schools with W&L students to teach kids new languages that are not available to them otherwise. I've really enjoyed the experience of working with the fourth and fifth graders at Natural Bridge Elementary! Overall, I have a deep appreciation for education and academic challenge. I hope to apply my diverse academic, work, and volunteer experience to medical school, as I have surrounded myself with a variety of different people from many backgrounds. I believe that my broad experiences will help shape me to be a better physician.
