About Jasmine He

Student majoring in music, political science, and business management that became emancipated at age 16. My career began due to being independent as I had to support myself at a young age. Following my role as a piano accompanist, I began my career in the food industry where I had developed important foundational skills that I now utilize in my current employment experiences. This includes working in high pressure environments, multitasking, problem-solving and communication skills. However I ultimately made the decision that it was time to move out of the food industry and explore internship opportunities as well as different jobs that have made an impact in my development as a person. I have had exposure to the sales and marketing industry through my internship with Bulletin, in which I developed communication and organization skills. Then I developed these skills further as I worked in a call center for instance, as a Brand Ambassador and as an IT Assistant. I have learned much about what I like and don't like and am looking forward to experiences to come as well as expertise to be gained. With regards to my education, I am en route to completing my degree that concentrates in music, political science, as well as business management. After deciding to pursue my passion of piano after not playing since middle school, I am honored to be studying piano with Professor Gilbert Kalish at Stony Brook University as I am learning a ton and challenging myself with repertoire. I have had my own recitals and performances as an undergraduate student studying with a graduate piano professor and I could not be more grateful for the experiences I have had being able to perform and learn further the world of a pianist. Though political science and business both play a fundamental role in my degree. I have always took interest in business and corporations as well as being able to understand the depths of a business. I am glad to be able to acquire knowledge around corporate and finance through my business classes. In addition, I have not been familiar with political science prior to my freshman year but after my first political science class, I realized how interesting this field is and how much I liked learning about it. I find the realm of politics to be a mystery and to remain captivating.
