About Jasmine Jaisinghani

Jasmine Jaisinghani raised in Los Angeles, with ancestral roots from Mexico and India, has a background in theatre, music and film that informs her interdisciplinary lens for storytelling and public programming. Jasmine is an alumna of Carnegie Mellon University’s Drama program in Directing where she developed her artistic vision in conservatory-based theatre training. Jasmine has participated in talent and leadership development programs at the Tribeca Film Institute, Film Independent and Arts for LA. Prior to the strike, Jasmine was the Program Head for the Ojalá Ignition Lab for NBCU; a television writers lab cum development deal conceived by VIDA creator/showrunner Tanya Saracho. Jasmine’s professional journey began at Capitol Records and segued to George Harrison’s Estate with a focus on their film archives. She has credits on the music documentary Concert For George; Harrison's posthumous Grammy-winning album Brainwashed and The Dark Horse Years box set. Drawn back to storytelling she developed feature films for studios, international producers and consulted from development to campaign strategy; she also produced films for Nisha Ganatra, Aldo Velasco and Igor Voloshin. With a love for world cinema and public programs, Jasmine created the Cultural Relations department at American Film Institute's AFI FEST promoting international films and talent coupled with community engagement. Following her tenure she co-founded Global CINEMATHEQUE with former AFI FEST Festival Director Jacqueline Lyanga. Jasmine served as the first Artistic Director for the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles at ArcLight Hollywood and has programmed for LACMA, Film Independent, MOCA and consulted for the Sundance Institute’s Screenwriters Labs and was a mentor for their BIPOC Artist Program. Jasmine independently mentors emerging storytellers and previously co-produced a youth media training program for GlobalGirl Media at USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism; one of the four shorts produced won a Emmy Award.
