About Jasmine Simperingham

I am a feminist. I am an international human rights lawyer. I am a connector.I have 20+ years’ experience in the human rights, humanitarian and justice sectors, including roles with the UN Refugee Agency and the governments of New Zealand and the UK. I am passionate about the power of collective action and currently mobilise lawyers around the world to use the law to empower people affected by displacement and statelessness. As Program Director: Forced Displacement at PILnet, I foster partnerships between private sector legal professionals and nonprofits, leveraging their legal skills and expertise to advance refugee rights. I am committed to championing a people-centred, holistic and intersectional approach to legal work that prioritises the legal needs, rights and lived experiences of displaced people and other marginalised individuals.I hold a Master of Laws (with Honours), a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws. I am a qualified Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand and currently live in Geneva with my wonderful husband and our two energetic boys.
