About Jasmine Stackhouse

I currently reside in retail sales where it has improved a sharp skill for trouble shooting and fulfills that desired action of getting things done. While working in retail usually consist of being in a fast pace environment for me, I have mastered the ability of organization and time management to make every moment count and ultimately making “fast pace” seem much more manageable. I developed this skill younger starting when I was a athlete. While I have played multiple sports; basketball, cheer, track. The sport the really got me hooked was volleyball. While most girls began learning skills at the age of 3-4 I learned at the age of 14. I was teased often at the beginning by my teammates but I quickly advanced as a player, I was determined to prove that If you put your mind to something, anything is possible. I became the first volleyball player at my school to go D1, One of the most valuable players at my AAU club team and heading into college, I was selected to play in Europe foreign tour with a group of other big Ten players from other schools by my sophomore year and later on received a Big Ten Sportsmanship Award. However, the best accomplishment of all was maintaining the life as a student athlete. This has taught me more lessons in life and provided more skills than anything I have yet encountered. Example; being coachable the willingness to learn and always accepting new ideas. The role of leadership, maximizing your time to get things done, discipline, being detail orientated, being a team player, teamwork, even positivity! What bringing positivity to a group can do for others. While there are so much more those are a few that really stick with me! I am a proud alumna of Rutgers University-New Brunswick. I graduated May 2020. My degree is in journalism media and Africana Studies. My dream is to eventually one day have my own podcast and talk show. I love media and the many different aspects that go into it. It provides a large number of opportunities for a person to venture into. My hopes is to learn more about media and become multi faceted in the field. So far I have learned how to manage multiple different social media accounts, what it looks like working as a production staff for a major news corporation. As well as I have gained skills on using adobe softwares such as Adobe photoshop, Adobe premier, and Adobe audition. I can not wait to learn about new opportunities and to gain more skills and grow from them. And eventually keep taking one step closer to my dream career becoming a reality!
