About Jasmine Touray

I graduated from Arlington Country Day school in Jacksonville, Fl in 2016. I played basketball throughout high school, so I had this dream of going to the WNBA. While attending Florida State College at Jacksonville I joined the Women's Basketball team and then later graduated in 2018 with an Associate in Arts degree. While completing some courses at FSCj and doing research online I figured out that I wanted to become a Physical Therapist and earn a Doctorate's Degree. In 2019, I transferred to the University of North Florida to get started on the Physical Therapy career path and was immediately interested in the Exercise Science program. After looking through the other programs UNF had to offer, Public Health sparked my interest. I knew I always had a passion for health and helping others but, I was unsure which career path I wanted to take. In healthcare, the opportunities are endless on what I can achieve with a degree. While completing Public Health courses at UNF I have learned so much about myself and my health overall. Public health has helped me open my eyes to see the importance of health. I am so excited that I will be able to help people from different communities and backgrounds. My last job working as a Technical Support Advisor and now as an Aftercare Teacher includes using soft skills, communicating effectively, quickly learning new skills, problem-solving, and understanding others. To some extent, I feel all of these skills are important in the field of Public Health. I have learned that health requires effective communication to transfer information from person to person. At the core, I am a very patient and positive person who is very eager to help and serve others in my community.
