About Jason A. Penrod

Jason A. Penrod is just the 20th attorney to become Board Certified as an expert in Elder Law by the Florida Bar and the National Elder Law Foundation. He is also the founder of Family Elder Law with offices in Lake Wales, Sebring, and Lakeland, Florida. Originally from a small town in the Buffalo, New York area, Jason earned his B.A. degree from Niagara University and was the recipient of the Sertoma Award. Upon graduation, he worked and saved for law school while running for public office. Jason then headed to Vanderbilt University Law School in Nashville, Tennessee. Following law school, Jason moved to Central Florida and became immersed in the community. He has served as the President of the Lake Wales Rotary Club and the Lake Wales Chamber of Commerce. Jason has been recognized as a Rotarian of the Year and has received the distinguished Lake Wales Community Service Award. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Chapters Health Foundation and as Vice-President on the Lake Wales Medical Center Board of Directors. Jason enjoys writing and lecturing across the country. He has authored a book for nursing home management entitled “7 Strategies to Have Paying Residents & Avoid Lawsuits” and has co-authored “Don’t Go Broke in a Nursing Home!” As well as being a frequent National Business Institute speaker, Jason is also a Veterans Administration (“VA”) Accredited Attorney. He is an active member of the Academy of Florida Elder Law Attorneys and the Elder Law Section of the Florida Bar. Jason and his wife Monica, who is from Guadalajara, Mexico, have two young children.
