Hello, My name is Jason Glenn Baldwin. Recently I moved from Bakersfield, California and to Montesano, Washington. Currently, I am enrolled in Extended Education at California State University, Bakersfield, as a candidate for an M.A. in English. I found this job posting on the ghc.edu website. I enjoyed teaching English composition to first-year students because it was a learning and rewarding experience aligning with my student-focused work efforts. I am an advocate experienced in serving students on campus and future students in the community. As a volunteer, I have worked many hours contributing on and off campus, at food distributions, and in the campus Food Pantry. And I am an experienced participant and organizer of both on and off-campus recruiting events and am capable of oral presentations. I have strong interpersonal communication skills gained by working with peers and professors, serving students in student government, serving on campus committees, serving the community, serving the Graduate Student Center, and earlier employment serving clients and customers from a high level of customer service training, professionalism, and maturity. I offer extensive experience in research and reporting. Recently during the 2020-2021 academic year, I volunteered with Dr. Vega of the Graduate Student Center, coauthored the Graduate Student Center Advisory Council Tentative Implementation Plan, and proposed bylaws for the board. Furthermore, I authored the graphic report Graduate Studies Census Profiles: Service Areas, Demographics & Technology Needs and presented that report to the CSUB Directors of Graduate Studies, Highlighting some of the Graduate Student Center’s research efforts. Before January 2016, when I became a full-time student, I worked in the petroleum service industry for 20 years with companies like Cal-Pacific Drilling, Kenai Drilling, Baker Hughes Inteq, and CSS Drilling Tools. Other employment, training, and customer service experience came from corporate retail environments with Unocal and Tosco Marketing as a manager at a multiple-format retail location (fuel, Car wash, food, convenience store).
