About Jason Banonis

Accomplished civil litigation defense attorney with more than 25 years of experience handling complex litigation matters. I have more than two decades experience as a civil defense trial lawyer handling complex general liability matters, including sports and entertainment, retail, liquor, premises, security, products, professional liability, commercial, services, motor vehicle, toxic tort and class action cases for national and local clients. Before becoming an attorney, and while attending law school, I was a casualty claims representative where I managed premises, products and security matters, and general and professional liability cases for governmental entities. I am a Past President and Board Member of the Pennsylvania Defense Institute (PDI), a 400-member organization focused on promoting the interests of the civil litigation defense bar. In July 2020, I received PDI's "Defense Attorney of the Year" Award for statewide efforts in conjunction with the plaintiff’s bar to reopen Pennsylvania courts and law offices during the Covid-19 pandemic, and received DRI's Exceptional Performance Citation. I also served as an appointed member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Joint Task Force for Continuity of Legal Resources in Covid-19 Task Force, developing processes, technologies and rules recommendations to enable the legal system to continue operations under crisis conditions. I serve as the Co-Chair of PDI's Governmental Affairs Committee, PA state representative to DRI, member of DRI's State Legislation and Rules Task Force, Claims Committee for the Pennsylvania Association of Mutual Insurance Companies, member of CLM and Chair of Project LITIGATE (Lawyers Initiative to Improve Next Gen Attorneys Trial Experience), in coordination with the PA Supreme Court and PA Conference of Trial Judges. I was recognized by The Legal Intelligencer as a Trailblazer in 2020 and Morning Call as Reader's Choice Award Top Litigators in 2025. I also regularly speak at various state and local bar association and insurance industry events. I continue to serve on Lower Saucon Township Council, formerly as Council President, and also formerly Chairman of the Lower Saucon Township Zoning Hearing Board. I also serve on the Saucon Valley School District Comprehensive Planning Committee and on the Board of the WWII American Experience Museum in Gettysburg, PA.
