About Jason Bigstone

I have worked with west fraser for the last 10 years coming into the wood manufacturing industry I was unsure of where this would lead now 10 years later I'm happy I made the call to join this organization the opportunities they have given me to grow as not just a worker but now a leader, I spent the first 8 years as a production worker operating many machine areas, I'm most renowned as the "chipper man""rain man""chipper whisperer" for my ability to detect something was wrong before it was readily apparent this would later on benefit me later in my career to help me detect issues with the plant just under 2 years ago I was approached for a job opportunity at the division by a gentleman named Mike he was the one who initially approached me for the QC role for SLV so I went and spoke with the GM and discussed what this would entail nearly 2 years later I am still SLVs Quality control my journey in this role to date has been an adventure of many learning opportunities some of my accomplishments may include -Hosted a summer student at the division and guided him to success, he won 1st for his department and 3rd for forestry -Research and develope optimal conditioning with a great guy Muneeb-Research and trial control methods to reduce foam-overs in our pond system while at the same time using very little de-foamer -updating our out of date systems for process control -instituting new controls for our process -playing a part in re-establishing communication to other divisions -With TEAM effort, the job was made a permanent salaried position. those are some of the accomplishments done.so far, more to come I am always seeking knowledge to continue growing in some manner or another West fraser recognizes that and I am proud to be apart of this organization
