About Jason Binford

I am a Senior Director at the law firm Kane Russell Coleman & Logan, PC, with offices in Austin, Dallas, and Houston. I am a former Texas Assistant Attorney General where I managed the Bankruptcy Regulatory Team of the Bankruptcy & Collections Division. Prior to my tenure at the Texas Attorney General’s Office, I was a partner at one of the largest law firms in the country. I have over two decades of experience litigating Chapter 11 issues around the country and I have developed bankruptcy sub-specialties dealing with regulatory matters (including energy, healthcare, environmental, and retail/consumer protection), as well as franchising, and intellectual property. I am the co-editor and co-author of the American Bar Association’s Bankruptcy Handbook for Franchisors and Franchisees, the only full-length book substantively analyzing the complicated intersections between bankruptcy and franchise law. I am a frequent author and speaker on bankruptcy-related issues. I have been recognized through board certifications in business bankruptcy by both the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and the American Board of Certification.
