About Jason Cummings

In my current position as the Operations Assistant, my key role is to be the eyes and ears of the office; to assist the Office Administrator in ensuring that all the needs of the office and employees are satisfied. As required, I provide assistance with human resources, accounting, office services, reception and IT. As the firm grew and became more interested in the mental and physical wellness of its employees, I joined the office's Wellness Committee. I help to plan wellness events and play a key role is putting together the Office Wellness Newsletter. I also decided to play a part in the Office Sustainability Committee to help figure out ways that we, as a firm, could reduce our environmental footprint. To help our community's children, I've led the NY Office's United Way campaign since I started working for the firm.Prior to my years with Venable, LLP, I was the Assistant to the Directors of Administration and Finance at Morgan & Finnegan LLP until the unfortunate dissolution of the firm. My short time with Morgan & Finnegan was preceded by 8 years spent as the Assistant to the Director for Pratt Institute’s Office of International Affairs. At Pratt Institute, I served as a Designated School Official and acted as a liaison between students, Pratt Institute departments, and the Department of Homeland Security and Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Along with this title, I fulfilled the positions of Assistant to the Director, Associate Director, and Assistant Director, Database Manager, Front Desk Reception, and Office Helpdesk. My goal while working at Pratt was to lend a helping hand to our international student population. I hoped to create a welcoming office environment in a sometimes cold and unwelcoming government program.
