About Jason Dash

During my engineering schooling I have been fortunate enough to experience both a hands on technical approach, gained from my time at TAFE completing two advanced diplomas of Mechanical Engineering, and theoretical design and optimization approach from time studying a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Hons). This has given me a valued insight into 'the other side of engineering' that technicians and graduate engineers rarely get. I have held a range of unique and challenging positions during my career. From draftsman at a boilermaker to technician in the Fatigue and Fracture laboratory at DSTG to consultant and sales engineer for TBA Germany based in Tianjin China. I am currently working in Hannover, Germany at Continental Tires R&D, assisting the Platform Development team with research. During my time in China I had to adapt to a dramatically different approach to business and engineering, doubly so as I was located in an area where the English language was uncommon. I consulted, diagnosed and solved manufacturing problems for several factories, most notably reducing a 50% failure rate in a battery factory while streamlining assembly speed. I worked directly under the head of exports, liaising with customers from all over the EU and North America to provide after sales support and convey technical requirements to the Chinese engineers of which most did not speak English.
