With 36 years in education and training, I have built and am continuing to build a career grounded in resilience, innovation, and a commitment to empowering learners. From classrooms to curriculum development, my journey reflects a dedication to fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of learning in students from diverse backgrounds. What began as a passion for knowledge is evolving into a mission to inspire and empower. Early in my career, I realised education goes beyond imparting information - it opens doors and builds bridges. Seeing students grasp new concepts and grow in confidence has always reaffirmed my belief in its transformative power, and it continues to do so today. Earning a Bachelor’s degree in English Language for Education from the University of Manchester laid the foundation for my commitment to leveraging language as a tool for self-expression, global understanding, and personal growth. In my classrooms, English became and remains more than a subject; it is a gateway to opportunity. Whether guiding students in essay writing, grammar mastery, or public speaking, I have created and am continuing to create supportive environments where learners build confidence and find their voice. Working with students from diverse backgrounds refined my ability to adapt, innovate, and empathise, and I am continuing to tailor lessons to individual needs while fostering skill development and personal growth. Celebrating milestones - whether mastering grammar rules or delivering speeches—has always shown me the resilience and potential of every learner. As a curriculum developer, I have designed and am continuing to design programs that blend academic rigour with real-world relevance. By integrating themes like history, science, and global issues into language studies, I promote holistic education and prepare students for an interconnected world. Teaching IGCSE History helped students explore the past to better understand the present, and I am still bringing historical events to life through debates, research, and interactive lessons, fostering active citizenship. As a Cambridge Global Perspectives teacher, I have guided and am still guiding students in tackling complex global challenges - from sustainability to ethical decision making - through projects that cultivate empathy, collaboration, and critical thinking. Education has been and continues to be more than a career for me, driving me to help students reach their full potential in an ever-changing world.
