About Jason Dayee

Passionate about sports from an early age, I've always had a deep love for volleyball, basketball, football and track & field. While a career as a professional athlete wasn't in the cards for me, I discovered my calling in sports writing and reporting—a way to channel my passion into a different avenue. As a sports reporter covering the women's volleyball team at the University of Arizona, as well as other sports like football, basketball and soccer, I've had the privilege of witnessing and sharing the stories of remarkable athletes. I believe in the power of honest, respectful, and fair reporting, aiming to give voice to the journeys, triumphs and challenges of today's athletes. Through my work as a Production Assistant for UATV-3, I play a pivotal role in the production of top-notch television programming for over on-campus students. From controlling lower thirds and microphones during Sports and our Wildcast shows to managing the TriCaster for the daily doses on Monday Wildcast shows, I contribute to a seamless production process. I thrive in fast-paced environments, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring all elements are meticulously organized. In my new role as the Assistant Sports Editor for the Daily Wildcat, I plan on further honing my skills in journalism. While collaborating with a talented team, I am committed to delivering captivating and insightful coverage to our readers. With a strong foundation in production management, attention to detail, problem-solving, and effective communication, I excel in dynamic team environments. I am adept at utilizing technical tools such as Adobe Acrobat, Canva, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Premiere Pro. Additionally, my proficiency in Microsoft Office, APA Format and sports writing further enhances my versatility.
