About Jason Drew

Jason Drew is the founder and Technical Account Manager of Secom Technology (2007)Founder and CEO of Sint Software Interactive (2016). Both companies were created in response to his vision of providing high-end quality IT tools and security, previously only used by large corporate companies, to small-medium enterprises (SMEs).Jason's interest in quality IT provision was developed over many years working with small-medium businesses where IT products were largely home-based products, being used in SME businesses. Initially these products suited small companies, but as their businesses developed, and their customer platforms expanded to include significant online components, existing home-based products were no longer able to cope with increased demand in operating systems processing, data control, BI and security issues in the face of the increasing need to combat cybersecurity and tightening privacy laws. These market changes forced the leading operating system supplier, Microsoft, to take the SME market seriously and moved to their virtualisation platform with 2012R2. Microsoft licencing made their 2012 server very attractive to the SME market where IT security and server backup standards were becoming more complicated, requiring extra stability and protection. While these improvements were a plus for SMEs, it also meant specialised IT expertise was required. Jason's experience and ongoing product specific training in this area ensured sustained growth in the success of Secom Technology. Along with the enhanced performance of operating systems, Firewall Technology providers improved their products in line with providing SME companies with firewalls that had similar features to the many large enterprise products on the market, but at a price fitting the SME space. Untangle, Kerio, SonicWALL, and pfSense were all products that were maturing to a high-quality appliance for the SME market. The push into the SME space for IT security and disaster recovery has moved at a staggering pace over the last few years. More than just focusing on PC's and servers, the IOT network device world has been dragged into the security scope as well. People now hold on their phone the same computing power that would have run Microsoft 30 years ago but with these devices all connected to SME systems the potential for unwanted or accidental interference has increased. Jason recognised this change, forming a separate company, Sint Software Interactive specifically to deal with bespoke software and hardware utilised in the club and hotel industry.
