About Jason Egan

As a member of the IT Service Desk team at the VMIA, I am responsible for service delivery, maintenance and support of IT Service Desk technical support functions to all VMIA users. This predominantly includes prioritizing, and responding to all Service Desk requests submitted by VMIA staff. I am responsible for maintaining the status of “jobs” within the Service Desk system. My role includes technical tasks such as troubleshooting account and security issues, verification of hardware and software set ups, device and application provisioning and maintenance, daily monitoring of the status of systems via IS Health Check and Daily Preventative Maintenance. It also involves some afterhours support needs and some minor user training regarding use of organization systems. For the IT Service Desk, I am responsible for On Boarding, and Off Boarding requests for staff commencing and leaving the VMIA. In general, my role contributes to the development and improvement of the IS environment. My role requires good interpersonal skills and a strong IS technical competence supported by excellent problem solving and time management abilities and keeping up to date with technology. I am also a member of the Occupational Health and Safety Committee at the VMIA which focuses on the health and wellbeing of staff.
