About Jason Godwin

Jason is a senior management professional skilled in leading SME's and regional business units of multi-national companies who brings over 20 years of management, sales and business development experience and success driven by enthusiasm and passion from a range of industries and experiences across the UK, USA, Australia, Central Europe and Middle East regions. Jason was born in London and holds British, Australian & Czech (EU) citizenships. Although telecoms defined his career, with senior roles at several Tier1 operators, it all started with elevators. As a teenager he took an apprenticeship with his father Mike Godwin, a respected elevator designer, installing his pioneering LISI elevator monitoring units before working on his Bush House, London (BBC World Service) 14-elevator modernization project where, among many installation and other tasks, he likely created the world's first photo-electric elevator door sensor by modifying the now obscure US "Sonar-ray" ultrasound safety edge with an infrared beam to prevent finger trappings. Jason then moved to Australia joining Elevators Pty Ltd. of Lend Lease just as its founder Dick Dusseldorp was retiring which gave Jason a chance to present an "industry vision" to him as a group-selected young manager when Kone was taking over EPL. Jason had quickly graduated from onsite TA (tradesman's assistant) to Sales & Projects Engineer at EPL-Kone and enjoyed strong sales and delivery success in Perth (WA) with Kone on the high-rise landmark developments that still dominate its skyline today. After that he led Boral Elevators [now OTIS] as State Modernisations Manager (NSW) and later State New Installations Manager (NSW) to deliver on ambitious targets that underpinned the acquisition by OTIS. A subsequent move to the Czech Republic provided limited options in the elevator industry so Jason started a career in telecoms by co-founding one of the first, privately-owned internet service providers there. In addition, Jason brings an ITC & digital suite of skills, product management expertise and project/program management leadership at scale, plus valuable startup experiences, including eMobility, and academic studies with an MBA.
