About Jason Holder

A biotechnology leader and company builder with deep expertise across diverse areas of biomedical science, and a passion for translation into impactful therapeutics and diagnostics. From concept to IND-enabling studies my career emphasis has been on infectious diseases and antimicrobial resistance while recently developing specific-cell targeted lipid-based enzyme therapy. As Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Endolytix, I have led the development of novel biological therapeutic targeting non-tuberculous mycobacterial (NTM) infections—addressing urgent unmet clinical needs where standard antibiotics fail. This rationally designed therapeutic required development of a drug delivery modality targeting the immune cells harboring NTM. I’ve raised over $30M throughout my career in both dilutive and non-dilutive funding to advance programs from concept to in vivo validation, by building out programs for assay development in vitro and in mammalian cell culture, protein chemistry, lipid-based formulations, microfluidic blood separation, phage discovery, phage engineering, synthetic biology, overexpressed-protein fermentations, and computational biology to support product development. I work closely with the many R and D teams I have built to lead and maintain critical path, experimental design, and troubleshooting. My experience spans R&D leadership, team building, IP strategy (as inventor and coarchitect on numerous patents and portfolios), grant writing, investor development and communications, board member with R and D reporting, and company operations.
