About Jason Keith

I focus my practice on all services relating to patent application drafting and prosecution, patentability opinions and freedom-to-operate opinions. I prepare and prosecute applications covering a wide range of subject matter including tissue grafts, batteries, plant genetics, polymer chemistry, and pharmaceuticals. My technical background is in small molecule chemistry, organic and analytical chemistry, and chemical engineering. I received my M.S. in chemistry from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, conducting research employing analytical methods to study complex chemical interactions in proteomics. Prior to that, I earned a B.S. in chemistry with a biochemistry concentration from Duke University, where I researched self-healing polymers. I earned a J.D. from the Cardozo School of Law. Before joining Alston & Bird, I worked as a chemist at General Electric in Niskayuna, NY, investigating resin and composite materials for use in airplane fuselages. I also worked as a patent agent and associate at Cooper & Dunham in New York, managing prosecution portfolios relating to small molecule pharmaceuticals and formulations, as well as nucleotide-based diagnostics.
