Over a decade of experience in clinical and research cytogenetics with experience in- human and animal tissue culture- chromosome staining and karyotyping- suspension FISH set-up and analysis, and new probe validation mapping in DAPI- FFPE FISH set-up and analysis- literature search and report composition- case presentations for staff meetings- setup and analysis training in chromosomes and FFPE FISH for medical rotations and fellowship programs- remote consultation and long term support after graduation for directors opening new labs. Accomplishments include- identifying the cause of a long term automated scanner image capture failure that effectively cut output of the primary capture method by up to 50%- solving reagent stringency problem for FFPE FISH research project using rare specimens stored over 20 years. These accomplishments highlight my ability to understand systems well enough to identify the root causes of a problem and directly implement solutions or provide convincing evidence to facility collaborative process improvement.
