About Jason Kohn

I am currently a Professor of Law at Humber College after previously serving as the Program Chair of the Legal Programs at Everest College. I have a B.A.(Honours) from the University of Toronto in Criminology, a M.S. from Indiana State University in Criminology, and an LL.B. from Dalhousie University. I have been licensed to practice law in the province of Ontario since 2002. After being called to the bar, I practiced as a litigator in Ontario for two years, mostly dealing with cases involving medical malpractice (primarily obstetrical) from both a civil litigation perspective as well as from the professional licensing/administrative side as well. I then worked as In-House Counsel for two corporations and was involved in any and all matters which faced the corporations. This included drafting and reviewing sales, licensing, and employment contracts. I co-ordinated with external counsel as required and made numerous appearances on behalf of my employers before various courts, tribunals, city/town councils, and the media as was required by the dictates of the position. I am a strategic planner in all aspects of my professional life and will always try to find the best way to solve a problem based on my clients needs from a professional, personal, financial and compliance perspective.
