About Jason Miner

I am currently the Director of Education for the Kentucky affiliate of JAG - Jobs for America's Graduates, a national non-profit organization dedicated to preventing dropouts among young people who have serious barriers to graduation and/or employment. Previously, I was a teacher and educational leader for the EVSC from January 2001 to December of 2018. I have earned a Bachelor's degree in elementary education with a middle-school endorsement, a high-school license, and minors in both English and Spanish. I completed a master's degree in education administration, and hold a principal’s license in the state of Indiana. In addition, I earned a doctorate degree in Clinical Christian Counseling with certifications in youth and adolescent therapy. I have served as a youth director of The Potter’s Wheel, an inner-city non-profit organization in Evansville. I have owned and operated a counseling office in which I worked with primarily inner-city youth and assisted families with juvenile court issues and child service agencies. I have also served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), working with court cases involving abused and neglected children of Vanderburgh County. I have served as a member of “Friends of Hidalgo”, an organization that has given me the opportunity to bring aid to the impoverished villages of Mexico. I am also currently serving a second term as an Evansville City Council appointed Human Relations Commissioner.
