About Jason Moore

Emigrated from the UK to southern Germany in December 2018. I have over fifteen years of successful classroom experience as a Teacher of English Language and Literature, in UK high schools, and now work as an Associate Tutor of Academic Writing and Speaking Skills (as well as Technical and Business English) for a German university. Since November 2022, I have also worked as a tutor providing online classes for an international company, who desired language courses for their trainees and professionals. I deliver classes for the Cambridge Pet B1 English course and the TOEIC exams, creating a convivial, encouraging atmosphere that allows my students to flourish. The feedback from these sessions, as well as the exam success rate, has been overwhelmingly positive. These sessions have also allowed me to develop as a tutor, and I have been able to reflect on my own experiences of language learning (I completed an intensive German course in 2022) to better understand the needs of those studying in a second language. I am an accomplished writer, of many years of practice. My first novel has courted some interest from several UK-based literary agencies, and I am currently at work on my second book. When not writing fiction, I maintain an online review platform within the board-game community – combining my love of words with a hobby that I have been an avid follower of for over a decade. My reviews are designed to entertain as well as inform and, having built up a reasonable following in the past five years of producing these, I have been in demand from publishers who have invited me to support them in creating literature for games in development (rulebook writing and editing; developing game-world narrative, and so forth). I have long considered Germany my permanent home, and continue to enjoy finding my place in the world – both in my career and day-to-day life. I am interested in pursuing teaching and writing opportunities, and look forward to developing my skillset wherever I find the prospects to do so.
