About Jason Murray

I am a highly motivated and driven individual. I currently work two full-time careers, recently completed my Masters and am set to commence my Doctorate studies in February 2022. I presently work for the CBSA as a Programs Officer, working on policy and projects, and previously spent over 10 years in Training and Learning, as a Defensive Tactics and Basic Firearms Instructor. I also presently work with the Ottawa Fire Services (since 2014), most of which has been with the HAZMAT/CBRN unit. The skills I have taken away from each profession highly complement one another. The different responsibilities of each profession provide me a unique perspective that drives my interest and passion in public safety. I am a certified instructor, through the RCMP, in Defensive Tactics and Immediate Action Rapid Deployment (IARD). I am certified in the Province of Ontario in Conductive Energy Weapon (CEW). I have been certified as an instructor through ASP in Handcuffing, Baton and Flashlight training. I am certified HAZMAT/CBRN technician and have been able to develop a good deal of hands on experience in interagency response. I constantly push myself to always be learning more and more about my craft because you can always take something away from all of the brilliant professionals in the Public Safety community.
