About Jason Okpala

Jason Okpala is a results-driven Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Riverside. He has built a strong foundation in process optimization, thermodynamics, mass transfer, and fluid dynamics, gaining hands-on experience through laboratory research, technical projects, volunteer work, and leadership roles. With a strong interest in the water and wastewater industry, Jason has actively pursued opportunities to expand his expertise. His volunteer work with the Santa Ana Regional Water Quality Control Board, combined with his internship and full-time role at Process Wastewater Technologies, has deepened his understanding of water treatment processes and environmental engineering solutions. Currently, he works as an engineer, leveraging his problem-solving skills and technical expertise to tackle complex engineering challenges. He is passionate about process improvement, energy efficiency, and sustainability, and he aims to further develop these interests by applying his experience with AspenPlus, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, FreeCAD and water/wastewater treatment technologies. His ability to collaborate effectively in team environments stems from his leadership roles in the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) and the Nigerian Student Association (NSA). Jason is committed to continuous learning and professional growth, with the long-term goal of earning his Professional Engineer (PE) license. He has already obtained his EIT certification from the California Board of Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists and is actively pursuing additional certifications and coursework to strengthen his expertise. Now, he is exploring new opportunities that align with his technical background and aspirations—seeking roles that offer professional development, work-life balance, and the chance to be more integrated into a city environment.
