About Jason Pope

My experience in education ranges from Elementary through Collegiate Studies and will bring the following: Doctoral Candidate through the University of Illinois in Education, Policy, and Leadership with an emphasis on Equity and Diversity in Education Involvement in curriculum development and implementation of English Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science and Fine Arts with Common Core integration Generating enthusiasm and interest in the educational programs provided Working with community members and stakeholders to develop support and a sense of ownership for a cause Overseeing and managing the educational and technological opportunities and programs provided to staff, students, and community Developing a program to best suit and benefit the needs of students, including intervention strategies directed toward specific skill areas that are showing a deficit Developing a sense of purpose and direction to ensure focus and effort in our mission to serve all students striving towards equity As a Principal, I developed and fully utilized collaborative teams in planning for educational and community development to improve community relations and outreach programs. As an administrator, I have worked to address disproportionality within academics and behavioral components for all students in conjunction with the University of Illinois, NYU Steinhardt and district representatives to develop and implement a more comprehensive approach to embedding Culturally Responsive Education (CRE) within instructional practices and methodologies. As a researcher, I focus on identifying factors that provide for inclusive educational practices (in both multicultural and special education inclusion) and development of a recognition of human diversity realized through a systematic implementation of true multicultural education by developing educators capacity in being culturally responsive to all students.
