About Jason Rickards

Growing up in rural Pennsylvania, I spent much of my time wandering the woods behind my house – following creek lines, flushing out pheasants, and surprising deer. This, along with countless hours fishing with my brother and father inspired a great appreciation of the outdoors, so I naturally followed a career path involving wildlife and natural resource conservation. Some highlights from my work experience include: Repeated success completing complex projects ahead of schedule and under budget while maintaining stringent quality control, supervising and mentoring individuals on field investigation operations, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Expertise in many disciplines including flora and fauna identification, wetland and forest stand delineation, stormwater management compliance inspections, heavy mineral sand mine risk mitigation, wildlife protection, NPDES permitting and compliance, and emergency preparedness, among many others. Track record of proactively managing multiple simultaneous compliance activities to promote environmental health and safety and addressing conservation requirements, regulatory compliance, and financial targets to facilitate success. Throughout my 15+-year career, I have orchestrated 1,200+ NPDES stormwater management facility compliance inspections, led teams to delineate jurisdictional wetlands limits for acres, and resolved hundreds of abnormal events, sewer overflows, and boil water notices. My passion for environmental stewardship has continued to grow, and I have thrived as a Certified Environmental Professional (CEP) and Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS). I am especially skilled at ensuring regulatory compliance with all governing rules and regulations, even when they test my ethics and morals. I am capable of remaining calm in the face of emergencies and juggling multiple projects at once. Additionally, I enjoy mentoring younger professionals to help them achieve a high level of proficiency in our field.
