I have over 20 years of experience as a civil / structural designer. I've worked on a wide array of projects ranging from the design and drafting of the Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport tank farm expansion, to basic pipe support repair. Over the years I've had to expand my knowledge base beyond civil / structural to include piping design. I designed and drew all the drawings with the exception of electrical for three separate tank farm projects. The most challenging part of these projects was the piping design. All of the drafting has been done using basic AutoCad with out the aid of any third party soft ware. This experience has made me a better civil / structural designer because I now better understand the requirements for routing and supporting various sizes of piping.
